The Bendac Brighter Days campaign is here to help with the wintery doom and gloom and celebrate the many positive things that help fight off the January Blues! Each week, we will be looking at a new topic, covering mental wellbeing, key events with some of our fantastic partners, and our team’s news and successes.
Our Brighter Days campaign and newsletter is here to share positivity from us at Bendac HQ.
We are starting off with understanding the benefits of mindfulness, with the help from our Mental Health First Aiders and Spectrum.Life, our wellbeing platform. Maintaining both mental and physical wellbeing is something we really care about here at Bendac, which is why we are proud to have two Mental Health First Aiders supporting our colleagues.
The ‘Stress Bucket’ is a visual concept to help understand how we think about our wellbeing, and Mental Health First Aider Sophie Marshall has shared details about this and some possible coping strategies.
Imagine there’s a bucket you carry with you which slowly fills up when you experience different types of stress. Sometimes you feel strong enough to carry a lot of stress, but it’s important to find activities which help you lighten the load, and to acknowledge when it gets too much.
We can help ourselves de-stress by engaging in some positive coping strategies such as:
- Having a bath
- Taking a break
- Asking for help
Taking a moment to de-stress using positive coping strategies has the power to make day-to-day tasks more manageable and less overwhelming. Many of us will participate in activities that are positive for our mental well-being without realising it.
Check back next week for more from Bendac Brighter Days.
